Care & Instruction
CARE & INSTRUCTION GUIDE
Proper care and maintenance will ensure your chainsbarrow garden planter beds remain durable, beautiful, and highly productive for many seasons to come. Please follow these guidelines for assembly, preparation, and ongoing care.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation
Choose a flat, level surface in your garden that receives optimal sunlight for the plants you intend to grow. Levelling the ground before placement prevents shifting over time.
Process
Unpack all components carefully on a soft surface to avoid scratching the finish. Use the included hardware and follow the step by step structural guide provided in your package. Ensure all screws and bolts are hand tightened first, then securely tightened once the entire bed is fully assembled.
PREPARING FOR PLANTING
Protective Layering
We recommend placing a layer of landscaping fabric or a thin layer of cardboard at the very bottom of the planter bed before adding soil. This helps suppress weeds and grass while allowing proper water drainage.
Soil Selection
Fill your planter bed with a high quality mix of organic topsoil, compost, and coarse potting mix. This specialized blend ensures rich nutrients, optimal root aeration, and excellent water retention for your plants.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Seasonal Cleaning
At the end of each growing season or before spring planting, clear out old plant debris. Wipe down the interior and exterior walls with a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild, eco friendly soap. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive brushes that could score the protective coating.
Hardware Inspection
Because structural soil weight and weather shifts can cause minor movement, check the structural fasteners once a year. Gently tighten any loose screws or nuts to maintain perfect structural integrity.
WINTER CARE
Frost Resilience
Your chainsbarrow planter bed is engineered from premium, weather resistant materials built to withstand freezing temperatures. You do not need to disassemble or move the bed indoors for the winter.
Soil Management
To protect your soil quality over the winter, cover the top of the bed with a layer of mulch, straw, or a winter garden tarp. This prevents heavy winter rains or frost from compacting the soil and washing away valuable nutrients.
